All Moved out

Hi everyone! I officially moved out of my home 😊 It still doesn’t feel real. After 8 gap years, I’m finally moving forward to attend medical school.

You don’t understand what this journey has felt like unless you’ve lived it. Imagine year after year not knowing if you’ll be accepted, working a job you don’t love just to get by, and constantly telling people, “I’m starting next year,” while silently wondering if that moment will ever come. All the time, money, and energy spent on applications and MCAT prep—with no guarantees—has finally led to this moment where I know exactly where I’m going. And that feeling? It’s indescribable.

If I can leave you with anything, it’s this: don’t give up on your dream. No matter how long it takes, no matter how many setbacks you face, keep going. Don’t settle. It truly feels different on the other side.

A coworker told me today that I look happier, like I have a different glow—and I feel it too. I’m walking through the halls of my job knowing I’m finally choosing what I truly want, not settling for what’s comfortable. No paycheck is worth giving up on your purpose.

Over the next couple of days, I’ll be finishing up the house—cleaning, painting, and making sure everything is in order. After that, I’m planning to spend some time with my mom and grandparents before I leave for this next chapter.

It’s really happening. Bye for now 💛

Here is a poem that has resonated with me for the past 8 years of my journey to medical school.
