Guess what ??? I took the MCAT !!!!!!! So I took the MCAT yesterday. Yes, the MCAT. The Exam I have been putting off for the past three years. The Exam I have scheduled probably four times already and always called to cancel it due to anxiety. I did it. I, Ginny Annilus, sat and took the Mcat. The MCAT is 7.5 hours long ! with 230 questions that cover
- Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
- Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
- Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior
- Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
I can't believe I did it. No, I don't know my score. I will find out a month from now. But the fact that I did is crazy to me.
Now let's talk about my experience. So the night before the Exam, I could not sleep at all. I probably got 3 hours of sleep. I had major anxiety. Then I woke up at 7:32, showered, drove to Dunkin Donuts, and got coffee. I arrived at the testing center late, but that's okay. Other people were also taking the MCAT, and we're still checking people in.
-Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems: This section felt good, and usually, this is my worst subject. I took the entire 95 minutes to finish this section.
-Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS): This section was challenging. I almost ran out of time. I used all my test-taking strategies. I read the questions before reading the passage and took notes to summarize what the question was asking me; I then read the passage and highlighted it, and for each question went back to look for evidence. This is probably why I ran out of time.
-Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems: This section was heavy AA, good thing I went over those, lol. But no, for BIO, many answers are literally in the passage.
-Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior: This section was super low-yield!!! A lot of that stuff was random topics.
I get my score back 2/21 yay !!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😊
